The Youth Symposium held at the University of Abuja on the 23rd of October, 2025, organized by @ppfnigeria in partnership with FP2030, Mental Health for Youth Initiative (MHYI), ARFH, Education as a Vaccine, and AfriYAN was a great movement.
The panel session, moderated by Sadiya Yakubu, SGBV Desk Officer at PPFN, centered on the theme “Tackling Gender-Based Violence and Harmful Norms.”
Panelists: Lucy Abeng (Founder, MHYI), Dorothy Ngemanze (Director, DNP), Green Chizoba (Program Manager, Lex Initiative), and Amrah Aliyu (Executive Director, SAFWGS), shared powerful insights and personal experiences, calling for safe spaces and collective action to challenge harmful cultural and social practices, particularly those affecting the girl child.
The discussion reaffirmed the need for continued advocacy and collaboration to end gender-based violence and promote equality for all, which is part of what we advocate for at MHYI. You can join us today as a donor, partner, or advocate.
